Armstrong Constructions fitted FuelGuard® devices to two excavators in our fleet in 2006. This was on a project where fuel had been stolen previously. The theft of fuel ceased once the FuelGuard®s were installed.
Recently, thieves broke into a secure compound where our machines and other company’s machinery was being parked overnight. Thieves drained three full tanks of fuel from the machines that did not have FuelGuard®s installed. Despite their attempts, we did not lose any diesel which definitely proves the effectiveness of FuelGuard®.
We now have the confidence to install FuelGuard®s to protect our other machines from fuel theft.

Before installing FuelGuard® we were hit twice – each time it was probably a minimum cost of $3000 for fuel alone.
Since installing FuelGuard® there have been no thefts from EA Hire machines working
on the pipeline project, although some other
contractors’ equipment has been targeted, which has prompted the installation on our entire fleet.
There were some machines on the site that didn’t have the FuelGuard® fitted and they got siphoned, whereas our machines were left alone.
